Bodywork sessions

Massage therapy can be helpful for things like chronic pain, muscle soreness, stress relief, relaxation, and connecting deeper with your body. Sessions with me are a collaboration between the two of us, so we will discuss your goals for the session and the areas you would like to focus on that day. I use a combination of modalities for a therapeutic session based on you and your body’s needs.

I have been trained in Swedish massage, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, acupressure, and reflexology. I have completed training in craniosacral therapy as well, a gentle touch therapy that works with the bones and fascia of the head and spine to promote healing and nervous system regulation.

I am also trained in how to work with TMJ / jaw dysfunction. TMJ massage uses techniques for muscles around the jaw and inside the mouth to release tension and reduce pain. I offer this work as a stand-alone 30 minute session, or as part of a 60 or 90 minute massage session.

I offer 30, 60, and 90 minute therapeutic massage sessions. I also offer 90 minute massage & Reiki / energy healing sessions. Additionally, Megan Rowell and I offer Massage for friends & lovers (doubles massage) sessions.

What to expect

In my massage sessions, I start by checking in about how you are feeling that day, what your intentions are for the session, and if there are any areas where you hold tension or experience pain. I also go over anything that might have stood out on the intake form that is filled out when booking, such as recent injuries or chronic medical conditions. I give you an opportunity to bring up anything else you would like to ask or share, then I leave the room so you can undress to your comfort level and get onto the table under the sheets.

From there, I come back in and ask for consent to begin contact before starting the session. During the massage, I check in about how everything is feeling and how the pressure level is. Aside from these check-ins, I don’t initiate conversation while in session to give you space to tune into your body, but we can talk a little if it helps you feel more comfortable. I only uncover the area of the body that I am working on at the time. Afterwards, I invite you to share how the session was for you and how you are feeling now. Then, unless paid in advance, I collect payment before we wrap up.

You are encouraged to ask for any adjustments you might need, whether that's leaving the lights on all the way, receiving more or less pressure, taking breaks from touch to just breathe, or ending the session altogether at any time. I am there to facilitate a relaxing and healing experience for you, and I try to do everything I can to make sure all of my clients feel safe and comfortable.
